Co-founder and president Dr. Kerry Spooner holds a Ph.D. in Literature from Stony Brook University and an M.A. in Experimental Humanism from NYU. She currently teaches English at Suffolk County Community College. Dr. Spooner also taught courses at Stony Brook University including advanced courses examining trauma’s affects on historicity, literary introductory courses exploring chronological breakdowns on storytelling, and introductory writing workshops and intermediate writing seminars.  Her knowledge draws from an interdisciplinary background in political science, political economics, gender and queer theory, literature & philosophy, social theory and psychoanalysis. Dr. Spooner gained experience at the department of labor assessing and evaluating employment skills and goals, identifying resources required for success in the workplace, and developing pathways leading to entry level position for both justice-involved and non-justice-involved individuals.

Co-founder LB Thompson holds an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and teaches English at The New School/Parsons, SUNY Farmingdale, and Suffolk County Community College.  She gained experience working on restorative justice projects through her membership in PEN America through which she worked on the Object/America project with incarcerated poets in the PEN Prison Writing Program  & scholars at Observational Practices Lab in New York City.
